ABOUT YESAA

INTRODUCTION

YESAA is an independent initiative for the attraction, grooming, motivation, encouragement, support and participation of Youth/Women in Agribusiness for the greater national good of food security and onward economic growth. YESAA was borne out of several reasons including the need to address the aging population of farmers, low interest in farming/agribusiness by youths, difficulties with funding startups, handicap with market access, growing rural-urban migration, festering poverty, and the advent of smarter agricultural practices/technology.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To groom, attract, encourage and support the engagement/success of Women & Youths in Agribusiness.
  2. To support/partner the vision of Government on food security.
  3. To jumpstart on an annual basis at least 50,000 Women/Youth-owned agribusinesses with over 2 million trainee participants/rural volunteers.
  4. To raise a generation of youths envisioning agribusiness as a worthy and profitable vocation.
  5. To empower women/youths with entrepreneurial skills required for profitable/sustainable agribusiness.
  6. To encourage women/youths aspiring to build promising careers in agribusiness with financial support.
  7. To provide a unique platform for learning from the masters and networking with potential clients and the general public.
  8. To encourage young people/farmers to embrace adaptability and resilience in the face of climate challenges.
  9. Assist young people to go from agribusiness dreamers to doers.
  10. Create opportunities between startups and fund makers/incubators/accelerators/crowd-funding agencies.

Dr Bisi is an agribusiness professional with specialization in rural market development and extension works. He has worked in event management and was coordinator for multiple AGRIKEXPO & CONFERENCES. His passion for youth engagement in agribusiness is a beacon of strength.

Sir Don Ode trained as a geologist and in water irrigation, and has expertise in water supply to farmlands. He graduated from the University of Jos and holds an MBA in Business Contracting/Marketing.

Ugo Nwabuisi is an agribusiness event professional and founder of YESAA/AGRIKEXPO and FOODBEXT expos. He holds a B.Sc in Biology, PGD in Business Administration, and an MBA (Marketing). He has worked across financial institutions and is a member of SISO.
